Why should your blog needs a SideBlog ?

A sideblog or aside is a mini blog that you can placed on your Weblog. Which can be updated with a short post in one or two sentences any time on any subject you wanted.
It can be a post about personal interests, general suggestions, some cool things that can be shared etc…
As you can see FeatherPot also had one now ! There are some interesting factors behind this move. Well I would like to share this with you.
Why you need a SideBlog

More frequent updates: While some popular blogs updates many times a day, Some blogs only updates once or twice a week (Once FeatherPot was also like that) with a side blog you can break up this barrier !

Invigorate the Feed Readers: Make them to visit the blog, and bind them with the blogs daily updates, Even if Aside posts are small Readers will love that if they are useful.

Go Personal: Sideblog allows bloggers to share some personal stuffs without interfering the professionalism to their articles. Asides keeps Miscellaneous stuffs away from the actual blog.

Quick Updates: Sometimes the Time will not allows you to post something that came suddenly to your mind. Without going for a full post you can publish it with the help of a sideblog.

Have many blogging friends online ? Some times there is a situation to add a friend to your blogroll. You will hesitate to add him because of his offtopic blogging compared to your blog. You can mention his name and put a link in your aside without any frustrations.
Why not to use a SideBlog
Like a coin, in the flip side there are some reasons not to use sideblogs

Need more space: Even though an Aside is limited to one or two sentences it should have a fair amount of space. And that can clutter the look and feel of your blog

Just Viewers: There are some peoples use social service like twitter or pownce as their side blog. The readers came across these posts are remained as just readers, they are not even able to add a comment on it !
And there are some solutions for these drawbacks too.. ! A tumblog is a good choice. A tumblog can easily integrate with your blog as a sideblog, Just by importing the RSS to your sidebar with WordPress Built in Widget or the SimplePie WordPress Plugin.
And the next way is to move some specific categories like ‘Aside’ from the actual content area to the blog sidebar with the help of some plugins like

I'm pretty much 90% small ideas, 10% big so sideblogs seem ideal. I'll definitely look into this one later tonight. Thanks for this
